Fisher-Price has recalled nearly one million toys because they contain excessive amounts of lead paint. Lead is toxic and cause serious adverse health effects if ingested by children.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall on Wednesday. The recalled toys include Sesame Street, Cookie Monster and Dora the Explorer to name a few. For a complete list of recalled Fisher-Price toys you can visit their website.
The toys were imported from China by Fisher-Price and sold nationwide between May and August 2007. The recalled toys have a date code between 109-7LF and 187-7LF on the product packaging.
The CPSC has not received any injury reports associated with the recalled toys, but warns consumers to take the toys away from children immediately.
