More than two weeks after a collision between a motorcycle and a motor vehicle claim the life of the cyclist, state officials are looking for specific answers as the case remains open and under investigation.

Robert Mark Pessin, 49, of Forest, died as a result of injuries that were sustained in a accident at approximately 9:56 a.m. on Mississippi 492. The accident involved two vehicles including Pessin, whom was eastbound operating a 2002 Harley Davidson when he was hit by Jerry W. Tate, 29, of Union, who was westbound in his 2002 Chevy. There are no reports of injury that Tate sustained during the accident.

Services for Pessin, were held on Nov. 22 in Forest. Pessin was a native of Rockford, Ill., and had been a resident of Clifton for the past eight years prior to having lived in Hawthorne, Calif. According to an obituary notice published last week in The Scott County Times, Pessin was Baptist by faith and was an avid outdoorsman who loved riding motorcycles in which he was a member of the Dreamriders. He also loved animals and was employed with Raytheon for 24 years.

Survivors include his wife, Maranda Kelly Pessin of Forest among others.
