A Shaw man was killed in a motorcycle accident this weekend when he lost control of his new bike, while pulling into his driveway, police said.

The man was parking his recently purchased sports motorcycle under his carport, Saturday, when apparently he gave the bike too much gas, Shaw Police Chief said. He was thrown from his bike and hit his head when landing between a parked vehicle and the brick wall of the carport, police said.

A friend, who witnessed the accident, called the police. The man did have his helmet on during his rid but he had taken it off prior to parking the bike, therefore he didn't have it on at the time of the accident.
